The Minnehaha County Commission on Sept. 22 approved bills totaling $5,687,913.02 and a slate of personnel actions.
The vouchers roll included a $4,482,526.02 line labeled "Due To Other Governments," and sizable single payments such as Nelson Auto Center ($100,723.02), Reede Construction ($327,581.90), Intek ($52,609.26), and Double H Paving ($51,593.19). The Commission approved the bills by motion (Barth/Karsky), recorded as 3 ayes.
The Commission also approved personnel changes. New hires include multiple correctional officers — Michael Smallridge, Christopher Cook, Michael Long, Elijah Pati, Wade Werner, Megan Wollmann, Luis Marquez‑Davila, Xavier Bailey, and Brannigan Johnson — at $19.47/hour effective Sept. 28, 2020; other hires, step increases, and position changes were also approved. Vicki Huitt, Accounting Manager, presented the Auditor’s financial reports that accompanied the packet. Motions to approve personnel and minutes likewise passed unanimously among commissioners present.
These approvals are routine budget and personnel actions that appear on the Commission’s consent agenda. The Commission adjourned and scheduled its next regular meeting for Sept. 29, 2020.
