Minnehaha County approves $100,000 supplement for One Sioux Falls housing assistance

Minnehaha County commissioners voted on Sept. 22 to approve an automatic $100,000 budget supplement for One Sioux Falls monies to continue shelter and housing assistance distribution.
Human Services Assistant Director Lori Montis told the Commission that the County was previously awarded approximately $300,000 in August and the additional $100,000 will allow continued processing of requests for rent, mortgage and utility assistance. The funds were awarded to the County by the City of Sioux Falls. Commissioner Barth moved to approve the supplement; Commissioner Karsky seconded. The motion passed on a roll call vote of three ayes.
Human Services will continue to process applications and distribute funds under the One Sioux Falls program. No additional county matching requirement was specified at the meeting.
