Minnehaha County Commission certifies Nov. 3 general election results

At a Nov. 6 canvass meeting, the Minnehaha County Commission voted 5-0 to certify the results of the Nov. 3, 2020 general election after Auditor Bob Litz presented the canvass; the board adjourned and will reconvene Nov. 10 at 9 a.m.
JEAN BENDER, Chair of the Minnehaha County Commission, called a meeting of the Commission acting as the General Election Canvassing Board to order at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 6, 2020. Auditor Bob Litz presented the results of the Nov. 3, 2020 general election and asked the board to certify the canvass.
Commissioner Heiberger moved to certify the results; Commissioner Karsky seconded. By roll call vote the board recorded five ayes and the motion to certify the canvass passed unanimously. Commissioners Barth, Beninga and Karsky participated via Zoom video conference. Olivia Larson served as commission recorder and Margaret Gillespie attended as Senior Deputy State’s Attorney.
After certification, Heiberger moved to adjourn and Karsky seconded. The motion to adjourn passed by roll call (5 ayes). The Commission, acting as the Canvassing Board, adjourned and set a reconvening for 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2020. The meeting record bears the approval signature of Chair Jean Bender and the attestation of Deputy Auditor Olivia Larson.
