Minnehaha County approves 2021 juvenile detention partner-county agreements, sets daily rates

On Nov. 24 the Minnehaha County Commission authorized the Chair to sign 2021 Juvenile Detention Center partner-county agreements between Minnehaha County, Lutheran Social Services and 15 partner counties. Jamie Gravett, Juvenile Detention Center director, presented the agreements; the motion passed 5-0.
The agreements specify a daily rate of $244.00 per bed for Juvenile Detention Center housing and Shelter Care housing. The packet also notes differentiated billing for Lincoln County: a daily rate of $66.55 for Community Supervision and $22.65 for Evening Report Center services.
Gravett said the agreements formalize housing availability and rates for partner counties from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2021. The Commission took no additional action beyond authorizing the Chair to sign the agreements.
