Mimi Legro was elected chair and Mike Long vice chair of the Conewago Township Board of Supervisors at the board’s Jan. 6, 2025 reorganization meeting, where supervisors approved a package of routine appointments, designated financial depositories and vendors, and authorized $26,736.48 in checks subject to audit.
Solicitor Victoria Storz opened the meeting at 7:00 p.m., called for nominations and presided over the reorganization actions. Frank Graybill nominated Legro for chair; Mike Long seconded the nomination and the motion carried with “all in favor.” Graybill then nominated Long for vice chair, Legro seconded, and that motion also passed unanimously.
Following the leadership elections, the board approved a consent calendar of appointments and rate designations. The consent calendar, moved by Legro and seconded by Graybill, named Jessica Hunt as Open Records Officer and Karen Brandt as alternate Open Records Officer; designated Ian Berry, Stephen Black or Amber Branchi as Zoning Hearing Board chair with Eleanor Long as alternate; listed Tim Barry as EMC coordinator; appointed Mimi Legro and Frank Graybill as COG representative and alternate, respectively; and included other routine appointments such as board of auditors (Caleb and Walter Schiavoni), UCC appeals and vacancy board positions. The board also confirmed professional providers and vendors including RETTEW for engineering/zoning officer roles, Commonwealth Code for building and code enforcement, Nikolaus & Hohenadel as solicitor, and SEK as outside auditor. Depositories named were Fulton Bank, Wells Fargo, Members 1st and PLGIT.
On finance, Legro moved to approve the check detail totaling $26,736.48, subject to audit; Mike Long seconded and the motion carried. The board also approved meeting minutes for Dec. 11 and Dec. 27, 2024 after motions by Frank Graybill and seconds by Legro.
In the engineer report, the board approved an extension of a Temporary Certificate of Use to June 16, 2025; the extension was moved by Legro and seconded by Long and passed with all in favor. Routine road and Conewago Place reports were noted with no comments, and an update to the fee schedule was tabled. Supervisor Frank Graybill thanked the road crew for their work.
The board voted (motion by Legro, second by Long) to adjourn into executive session at 7:47 p.m. to discuss legal issues with the solicitor. The public portion of the meeting concluded with meeting records submitted by Secretary Jessica Hunt.
