Charlotte County records November election calendar and posts candidate list; packet shows multiple scheduling entries

The Charlotte County Electoral Board at its Aug. 14, 2025 meeting recorded the General Registrar's election schedule for the Nov. 4, 2025 election and the list of candidates for several local contests.
The registrar's packet, presented by General Registrar Jenni Booth, lists key dates and deadlines for the fall election cycle, including entries that the packet identifies as early voting and training start dates, absentee-by-mail and registration deadlines, prerecording steps and post-election reporting windows. The packet lists early voting entries including both Sept. 19, 2025 and Oct. 5, 2025; it lists the last day to apply to receive an absentee ballot by mail as Oct. 24, 2025 and lists the last day to register or update a registration as Oct. 24 and Oct. 25 in separate lines. The packet also records processing and reporting items through Nov. 14–17 and Nov. 26 (as presented to the board).
Booth told the board that absentee ballots will be mailed the week early voting begins and that processing deadlines include a Nov. 7, 2025 deadline to enter certain records by close of business and other post-election processing steps that the packet lists. The board did not amend the dates at the meeting; the dates reported here are taken directly from the registrar's packet as recorded in the minutes.
The packet also included candidate listings for several local contests and a special election for a Board of Supervisors seat. Candidates listed in the registrar's packet included Sherry Hudson Tharpe (County Seat special election), Miller Adams, Hazel Bowman Smith, Adrienne D. Campbell, Walt Bailey, Teresa Dunnaway, Jay George and Elise Green for local boards and school board seats as presented in the packet.
The board did not vote to change the schedule at the Aug. 14 meeting. The board's next regular meeting is scheduled for Sept. 10, 2025 at 3 p.m., when any calendar clarifications could be addressed.
