During a review of Ordinance Sec. 36-596, multiple commissioners said the section is unclear and difficult to enforce as currently written.
Zoning Administrator Olivia Smith introduced the ordinance review. Commissioner Winter described the provision as "essentially unenforceable as written," and Commissioner Morrisey echoed concerns about the lack of clarity, suggesting the text be split into separate requirements. Commissioner Coykendall said the intent appeared to be to prohibit junk car storage in residential areas. Chair Laycock said the ordinance could not be interpreted reliably for enforcement and asked that proposed language be submitted to Smith for the January meeting.
There was no formal motion to adopt language at this meeting; instead commissioners directed staff and interested members to draft clearer enforcement language for Sec. 36-596 and return it for formal consideration in January.
