The Hillsdale Planning Commission voted unanimously Dec. 17 to recommend an ordinance amendment to City Council to rezone 350 Hillsdale St Parcel B, a rezoning the Commission said was needed to satisfy earlier conditions tied to a lot split.
Zoning Administrator Olivia Smith introduced the item; no applicant or representative appeared at the meeting. Penny Gimenez, owner of 17 Griswold St, approached the podium during this public hearing with questions about the prior rezoning (244 E Bacon St); Smith explained Gimenez's concerns related to the earlier item and clarified that the current rezoning stems from a requirement to split the property and the conditions the Commission and City Council applied when that split was ordered.
Commissioner Coykendall asked why the property had been before the Commission multiple times; Smith explained the administrative and conditional history that necessitated the rezoning. Commissioner Winter moved to recommend the ordinance amendment to City Council; Coykendall seconded, and the motion passed 6-0 on a roll-call vote.
The recommendation will be forwarded to the Hillsdale City Council for final action.
