Hillsdale council adopts five-year recreation plan to qualify for state and federal grants

City staff presented the draft plan, which the Planning Commission (serving as the Recreation Advisory Commission) approved following a public hearing on Dec. 17, 2025. Council members said adopting the plan would allow the city to pursue funding for park improvements and recreational programming.
Councilman Bob Flynn moved to adopt the five-year plan and Councilman Robert Socha seconded; the motion passed unanimously. The minutes do not list dollar amounts attached to specific projects in the plan; adoption allows the city to submit the plan to the state for final approval and to pursue eligible grant opportunities.
