Auditor Nita Hinrickson briefed the board on proposed tax rates and provided a FY27 revenue and expense spreadsheet restricted to that fiscal year. She presented a notice for a public hearing on the proposed tax rates scheduled for March 31, 2026.
Hinrickson noted work needed to update the county Code of Ordinances, observed there is no line item in the Zoning budget for that expense (MIDAS was previously paid from Dept. 99 Non-departmental), and said she will place funding for the update on the next agenda. She also reported receiving initial draft permits for Hawkeye Ag LLP A & W Site and Summit Farms Pork LLC Brannigan Site and said Clerk of Courts is considering moving phone lines to the State VOIP system this summer. Hinrickson said she is finishing up work on a historical preservation grant and has reached out to Mary Jo Litwiller.
