Parma Heights schedules Greenbriar Commons playground replacement, pool maintenance; service updates given

Recreation Director Sedlak told council on Jan. 12 that the city has met with contractor Snider to replace the Greenbriar Commons playground.
"Looks like we will be able to begin construction the last week of April," Sedlak said, adding that the Service Department will perform demolition and Snider will start immediately after. The design will use the city's purple and green color scheme and include three poured‑in‑place rubber areas to improve access for individuals with mobility concerns. Sedlak said the contractor is targeting a Memorial Day completion date.
Sedlak also said the city's pool will undergo maintenance projects this season, including replacement of the lap and dive pool pumps and refinishing of the slides.
Service Director Sepik announced Holiday Light collection at the Service Garage on Jan. 24 from 9 a.m. to noon and reminded residents that Republic Services will pick up Christmas trees; trees should be no larger than 4 feet or cut in half. Finance Director Satow said the department is closing 2025 and will provide reports to council as soon as possible.
Mayor Gallo announced a library ribbon‑cutting event scheduled for Saturday, April 11, from 2 to 5 p.m., with the ribbon cutting at 2 p.m. and asked council to approve several board and commission appointments; council granted its advice and consent.
