Parma Heights council re-elects Tom Rounds as council president, names Maruschak pro‑tem

Tom Rounds was elected Council President of the Parma Heights City Council during the Jan. 12 meeting, winning a roll‑call election in which each council member named him for the two‑year post.
"I thank everyone and look forward to the next two years serving as your Council President," Rounds said after the vote.
Council also selected Lisa Maruschak as Council President Pro‑Tem. By roll call, Barbara Allen was confirmed as Council Clerk and Nora Neel as Assistant Council Clerk. The council read and confirmed committee assignments for the 2026–2028 term, naming committee chairs and vice chairs across finance; utilities and streets; safety; and recreation.
The committee roster listed Lesley DeSouza as chair of the Finance Committee with Lisa Maruschak as vice chair; Sue Durichko as chair of Utilities and Streets with Chris Kolezynski as vice chair; Lisa Maruschak as chair of Safety with Stephanie Palmisano as vice chair; and Chris Kolezynski as chair of Recreation with Stephanie Palmisano as vice chair. Council representatives to the Planning and Recreation Commissions and the Fair Housing Board were also read into the record.
