Burleson County approves consent agenda, certifies $322,400 purchase and awards engineering contracts

Burleson County Commissioners Court unanimously approved a wide-ranging consent agenda and several procurement and infrastructure measures at its Sept. 25 meeting.
The court approved the consent agenda on a motion by Commissioner Vincent Svec, seconded by Commissioner Robert (Bobby) Urbanosky. The consent package included acceptance of a $30 donation, numerous budget amendments across county departments and the County Auditor’s certification of grant funds and FY2023 special budgets supporting a $322,400 Government Capital Finance Purchase Agreement #10360 for a Road & Bridge Precinct 4 motor grader.
The court also adopted a resolution to pursue Federal off‑system Bridge Program funding with no local match for County Roads 244 and 310, per information from Brian DuBois. Commissioners approved awards and acceptances of bids (and late bids) for road materials, asphalt, culverts, fuel and hauling, and ratified the FY2024 Statewide Automated Victim Notification Service (SAVNS) Grant Contract #C-01012 with the Office of the Attorney General for $5,762.25. The court renewed a FY2024 agreement with Appriss Insights, LLC to continue SAVNS service delivery.
During a workshop the court interviewed RFQ finalists for Development Engineering Services and authorized negotiations and awards to Bleyl Engineering; KTL Engineering, LLC; Rick Tobolka; and Walker Partners.
All measures recorded in the minutes passed on unanimous votes. The meeting concluded after the court authorized payment of county bills and adjourned.
The county will proceed with negotiating the engineering contracts and pursuing federal bridge program funds; specific contract amounts and timelines were not specified in the minutes.
