Burleson County sets Nov. 7 special election, approves plats, permits and 2024 fee schedule

Burleson County Commissioners Court on Aug. 28 approved an order to hold a special election on Nov. 7, 2023, and a resolution consolidating voting precincts for that election, actions the court approved unanimously.
The actions were part of a batch of routine approvals the court handled at its regular meeting in the county courthouse in Caldwell. Commissioner Vincent Svec moved to approve the special-election order, and Commissioner David Hildebrand seconded; the court also adopted a consolidation resolution to streamline precincts for the Nov. 7 ballot.
In land-use business, the court approved a simplified plat for property owned by Jesse Downey at 9375 FM 60 in Somerville, contingent on a 50-foot setback on FM 60, coordinating state access with TxDOT and adding state plane coordinates at two corners. Commissioners also approved the Guardian Forest Subdivision on County Road 126 and, after public comment, approved the re-plat of Beaver Creek Section 1, Lot 25.
The court authorized Road & Bridge, Precinct 4 to clear a fence right-of-way on County Road 472 for Caden Kindt and approved a proposed water line from Southwest Milam Water Supply Corp. on County Road 319. Commissioners approved a special road-use permit for Wildfire Energy to support Horak HCX B1H and Horak A1H operations on County Road 130.
Commissioner Vincent Svec moved and Commissioner Robert (Bobby) Urbanosky seconded approval of the 2024 sheriff and constable fees; the motion passed unanimously. The court also accepted a $130 donation to the Burleson Health Resource Center as part of the consent agenda and authorized payment of county bills before adjourning.
All recorded motions were passed by unanimous vote of the five-member court. No executive session was held.
