Burleson County approves right-of-way, drainage land purchase and multiple plat requests

Burleson County Commissioners on Aug. 14 approved a package of road, subdivision and land-management actions designed to support drainage, right-of-way access and local development. The court voted unanimously on each item.
Commissioner David Hildebrand moved and Commissioner Dwayne Faust seconded approval of a temporary right-of-way request from LPR Pecos Valley, LLC (Limerock) for a water transfer line on County Road 335. Commissioner Robert (Bobby) Urbanosky then moved (seconded by Commissioner Vincent Svec) to authorize Road & Bridge, Precinct 4, to clear a partial fence right-of-way on County Road 415 for property owner Joe Stohe; that motion also passed unanimously.
The court approved the purchase of Lot 81, Section 4A in Beaver Creek Subdivision, with tenants listed as Allen W. Forrester and Deborah Y. Forrester, intended to aid county drainage and flood control. Commissioners also approved a subdivision exception request from Joel Lamb (property on County Road 408) and a plat application from Clay T. Korth for Beaver Creek, Section 1, Lot 64. Commissioners authorized issuance of a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for a development engineer under a competitive bidding exemption, with responses due Sept. 7, 2023.
County staff described the lot purchase as a remedial action to help drainage; the RFQ aims to retain professional engineering services under the Local Government Code exemption for professional services. All motions were made and seconded by members of the court and carried on unanimous votes.
