The Garfield County Board of County Commissioners met Feb. 10, 2025, and approved a series of routine administrative and financial items while opening sealed bids for the county courthouse reroofing and deferring an award for later review.
Joe Kegin Jr. moved to approve the minutes of the Feb. 3 meeting; the motion passed with Commissioners Clarence Maly, Reese Wedel and Kegin voting aye. The board also approved two agreements between Amergis and Garfield County for the county Health Department after Kegin moved their acceptance.
Vice-Chairman Reese Wedel moved to approve one-year lease-purchase agreement renewals with Security National Bank covering multiple 2023 Mack truck units used by District 3, listing several lease numbers and the recurring lease amounts; the board approved the renewals unanimously.
Kegin moved to approve a claim against the State Election Board for February 2025 salary reimbursement for Garfield County Election Board Secretary Shari Monsees in the amount of $5,599.58; the claim and authorization for the chairman to sign were approved. Wedel moved to appoint James Metcalfe and remove Tammie Nelson as receiving officers for the Maintenance Department; that personnel action was approved.
The board approved the Garfield County Treasurer monthly fee report for Jan. 31, 2025 ($2,026.88) and, on Wedel’s motion, accepted January 2025 monthly reports from the County Clerk, Election Board, Health Department, Treasurer and Detention Facility, all subject to audit.
Clerk Lorraine Legere opened sealed bids for Bid #25-11, Garfield County Commissioners Courthouse Reroofing Re-Bid. Bids read aloud ranged from $108,000 (Next Level Roofing, Bixby) to $410,350 (Yates Roofing & Construction, Oklahoma City). After the bids were read, Kegin moved to accept all bids and hold them over for review; the board voted to hold the bids and deferred awarding the contract.
The board examined and approved a large set of prior- and current-year warrants, purchase orders and claims across multiple funds, with votes recorded in favor by all three commissioners. Items not acted upon were carried over to a later date.
With no further business, Kegin moved to adjourn; the board set its next meeting for Feb. 18, 2025.
