Garfield County commissioners approve appropriations, authorize highway equipment bids and declare surplus equipment

The Board of Garfield County Commissioners met Jan. 26, 2026, and approved a series of routine motions including multiple appropriations, procurement authorizations and surplus declarations.
Commissioner Reese Wedel, vice‑chairman, moved to approve a Cash Fund Estimate of Needs and Request for Appropriation for Drug Court for $31,624.97; the board voted in favor. The board later approved a second Drug Court appropriation of $10,263.88 and a Highway Unrestricted appropriation of $145,757.59, both on motions recorded in the minutes.

Each resolution was presented and carried by unanimous vote where recorded.
Commissioner Joe Kegin Jr. moved to authorize the chairman to sign a proclamation from the Farm Bureau; the motion passed unanimously. The board also approved and signed an Interstate 40 Crosstown Steel Beam Transfer form from CED #8.
The board examined and approved payment of purchase orders and claims across multiple funds. Notable warrant amounts recorded in the minutes included a payment of $84,536.38 to the Oklahoma State Department of Health (Health Department fund) and a Jail Sales Tax payment of $236,527.41 to the Garfield County Criminal Justice Authority. The minutes list additional warrants and vendors for maintenance, operations, lease rentals and other funds.
