Quay County road supervisor reports bridge repairs and micro-seal prep

Quade Fury, Quay County Road Supervisor, told the Board of Quay County Commissioners on Feb. 9 that county crews have completed work on Quay Road Z in Logan and begun work on County Road AK.
Fury said crews removed decayed timbers from Bridge 8514 on Quay County Road AH; Department of Transportation inspectors viewed the bridge, took measurements of the frame and will determine the size of replacement deck timbers. He said DOT will reschedule an inspection of Bridge 1044 on Route 66 to recommend repair options, and that traffic control devices are directing traffic around the damaged portion of that deck.
The road department also began preparing 15.5 miles of roads for a planned micro-seal application this summer by reestablishing ditches to improve drainage, Fury said. He presented the blade report to commissioners during his update.
The board did not take separate formal action on the road report during the meeting; the update was presented for information and planning.
