Pine County adopts 2025 Hazard Mitigation Plan to pursue FEMA mitigation grants

Sheriff’s Office Supervisor Denise Anderson asked the Pine County Board of Commissioners to adopt the Pine County Hazard Mitigation Plan on Feb. 17. Commissioner Matt Ludwig moved to approve Resolution 2026-05 adopting the Pine County Hazard Mitigation Plan; Commissioner Steve Hallan seconded and the motion passed 3-0. The minutes record that the board authorized the Board Chair and County Administrator to sign the resolution.
County staff did not provide additional details in the minutes about immediate projects tied to the plan or a timeline for FEMA review. Adoption of the plan is a procedural step required to access federal mitigation funding if and when FEMA approves the county's submission.
