Butler County supervisors approve routine business, hear 2.8% COLA and Dumont Main Street update

Chairman Rusty Eddy and Supervisors Greg Barnett and Wayne Dralle met Nov. 18 in Butler County to conduct routine county business. The board approved the meeting agenda, accepted the Nov. 12 meeting minutes and approved claims; each motion was moved and seconded and carried “all ayes.”
Butler County Auditor Leslie Groen reported the Social Security Administration's 2026 cost-of-living adjustment is posted at 2.8% and said she will contact the Compensation Board to schedule that board’s meeting to consider local pay matters. The auditor presented the COLA as posted on the federal government website; no local compensation decisions were made at this session.
County Engineer John Riherd provided an update, sharing his affiliate’s "Efficiency in Action" documentation and reporting that work on Dumont Main Street is continuing this week. No formal engineering actions or contract awards were recorded in the minutes.
The board read the second-tier canvass of city and school election results from Nov. 4, 2025; the minutes record the canvass reading but do not show a separate vote tied to the reading.
