Ottawa County commissioners approve ICE memorandum, fleet purchases and $75,000 REAP grant

The Ottawa County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a memorandum of agreement with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and a slate of procurement and grant actions at its regular meeting on Feb. 17, 2026.
The board, chaired by Mike Furnas, voted to adopt the ICE memorandum of agreement for the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department. Commissioner Robert Clark moved approval and Commissioner Scott Hilton seconded; the motion passed with Furnas, Clark and Hilton voting aye. The MOA includes appendices listing points of contact, a complaint procedure and public information contacts.
Also approved was Bid #2025-2026.19 to purchase 2017-or-newer used law-enforcement pursuit vehicles from Emergency Vehicle Resource. The board authorized purchase of nine of the ten vehicles on the bid.
