The Ottawa County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously Feb. 9 to approve a broad list of vendor claims, a $500,000 transfer of appropriations and several routine procurement actions.
The motion to approve the claims was made by Commissioner Robert Clark and seconded by Commissioner Scott Hilton; Chairman Mike Furnas, Commissioner Clark and Commissioner Hilton voted aye. The claims approved covered multiple county funds, including bond, health, highway and rural fire accounts.
Why it matters: the claims list includes significant routine payments and operating costs the county must fund to keep services and equipment operating. Notable entries in the board’s claims listing include a BANCFIRST bond payment of $33,360.67, Banner Fire Equipment purchase of firefighting equipment for $13,596.50, Agriland FS fuel purchases totaling $8,393.68, and a Caterpillar Financial Services lease-purchase payment of $4,200.40. The full claims list approved by the board spans multiple vendors and fund codes and was recorded in the meeting minutes.
The board also approved a transfer of appropriations from Fund 0001 to Fund 1103 in the amount of $500,000 on a motion by Clark and seconded by Hilton; the motion passed unanimously. Commissioners separately approved blanket purchase orders #3028–#3032 by the same unanimous vote.
No public testimony or extended debate was recorded on the claims, transfer or purchase orders. The meeting minutes list the full vendor names and amounts as the basis for the board’s approvals.
The board took these actions as part of its regular session and adjourned after completing the agenda.
