Ottawa County commissioners approve claims, property sales and multiple procurement bids in unanimous session

The Ottawa County Board of Commissioners met at 9 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15, 2025, and unanimously approved a slate of routine county business, including claims, purchase-card payments, property resale transactions and multiple procurement awards. Chairman Mike Furnas presided; Commissioner Robert Clark made the motions and Commissioner Scott Hilton seconded them at the roll call votes.
The board approved the minutes from the Dec. 8 meeting and moved through a detailed claims docket that included line items across General, Health, Highway, Rural Fire and other funds. Notable entries in the packet were an ACCO insurance premium of $182,879.00 and a maintenance agreement listed as ODSECURITY North America LLC for $11,000.00. The claims motion passed with recorded votes of Hilton, Clark and Furnas voting 'aye.'
Separately, commissioners approved purchase-card claims and payment totaling $5,444.34. Clark moved the purchase-card motion and Hilton seconded; the vote was unanimous.
The board approved several property resale proceedings and County Deeds conveying multiple parcels to Dustin Frazier for $100.00 each. The meeting record lists the legal descriptions for each parcel (examples include N/2 SE SEC 20 TWP 29 RNG 23 and NW4 (UND 1/9 OF 1/24 INT 160 AC) SEC 28 TWP 29 RNG 23). Each sale and deed motion carried by unanimous vote.

On procurement, the board opened and awarded a series of FY2025–2026 bids for road materials, equipment and related items. Commissioners received brief district activity reports: District 1 cautioned residents about winter weather and slick spots and provided a contact number, while Districts 2 and 3 reported routine maintenance. The board approved blanket purchase orders #2310–2312, then voted to adjourn.
