Ottawa County commissioners approve routine claims, $11,000 scanner warranty and $1 property sale

At its Dec. 2 meeting the Ottawa County Board of Commissioners approved routine claims and fund allocations, renewed an $11,000 warranty for a Soter body scanner requested by the sheriff, approved sale of county property to Dalton Deshazer for $1 and accepted a $94,410.25 road-work payment from the Seneca Cayuga Nation.
The Ottawa County Board of Commissioners on Dec. 2 approved routine claims and a series of budget and property actions during a brief regular meeting.
Commissioner Robert Clark moved to approve the Nov. 24, 2025 minutes; Commissioner Scott Hilton seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The board then voted to approve a long list of vendor claims and payments across general, health, highway and other funds as recorded in the meeting minutes; the motion carried on a unanimous vote.
In separate action the board approved an extended service warranty renewal for the Soter body scanner requested by the Ottawa County Sheriff. Commissioner Robert Clark moved to approve the warranty renewal in the amount of $11,000; Commissioner Scott Hilton seconded, and the motion passed with all three commissioners voting aye.
The board also approved the transcript of proceedings and executed a county deed transferring property acquired at resale to Dalton Deshazer for $1.00. The legal description for the property was read into the record; the motion to approve the deed passed unanimously.
Officials approved monthly reports from county offices and accepted allocations of motor vehicle and alcoholic beverage taxes as submitted by the county treasurer. The commissioners approved multiple cash fund estimates and requests for appropriations, including line items recorded for transportation, personal services, maintenance and operations, highway sales tax accounts and a Courthouse Improvement–ST item of $75,278.94.
The board recorded acceptance of Check #6100 from the Seneca Cayuga Nation in the amount of $94,410.25 to account #1313 (district 2) for road work. That motion passed on a unanimous vote.
Commissioners provided brief activity reports: District 1 noted upcoming Christmas parades, District 2 reported routine maintenance and thanked the Seneca Cayuga Nation for assistance, and District 3 reported routine maintenance. The meeting adjourned following a motion by Commissioner Clark and a second from Commissioner Hilton.
The board did not vote on ordinances or resolutions requiring further legislative steps; the recorded motions were approvals of minutes, claims, appropriations, a warranty renewal, a property deed and the acceptance of a road-work payment.
