The vendors and contract laborers listed on the purchase order include Bemac Supply, City of McAlester, HERRINGSHAW WASTE MANAGEMENT, multiple contract laborers and Briggs Printing, among others; the printout shows the total amount as $5,178.64.
Trustee Charlie Rogers raised a concern about recent event revenue at the Expo. Rogers said the most recent mixed‑martial‑arts event generated $24,000 in revenue, down from $29,000 at a prior event, and said the authority "lost $4,900.00" on the MMA fight after accounting for an upfront promoter guarantee of $10,000 and the current revenue splits where VIP table sales commissions were 15% for top tables and 10% for bottom tables. Rogers reported that the promoter, River city, has proposed altering terms for future events from a $10,000 upfront guarantee plus a 50/50 split to a 40/60 split with no upfront cost. Rogers suggested lowering upstairs VIP table prices for an Aug. 1 event and said the promoter might feature boxing rather than MMA at that show.
Vice‑Chairman Mike Haynes suggested the authority solicit bids for alcohol concessions at expo events for a six‑month or one‑year term as a potential revenue source.
No formal motion to change promoter contract terms or to award concessions was made during the meeting; trustees discussed the options but took no binding action on contracts or concessions. Chairman Selman moved to adjourn; the motion was seconded by Haynes and passed unanimously.
The authority’s next steps, as recorded in the minutes, are to consider any contract revisions or concession bidding at a future meeting; no formal directive, contract award, or change in promoter terms was adopted on Feb. 17.
