Spencer County approves EMS promotions, hires and authorizes equipment repairs

The court also approved promotion and hiring actions recommended by Limpp: Marshal Atherton will move from part-time EMT to part-time paramedic with a $3-per-hour pay increase; Chanlin King was approved for hire as a part-time paramedic ($16.50/hr) and Andrew Wheatley as a part-time EMT ($13.50/hr); Abbigail Nation was changed from part-time EMT to full-time EMT at $13.38/hr. All personnel actions were approved by motion with unanimous votes recorded as “aye.”
Separately, the packet includes vendor quotes and invoices for ambulance-related repairs and medical supplies; the clerk’s invoices register lists medical supply purchases and authorized payments. The court also approved payment of bills and transfers during the meeting.
The court did not record dissent or abstentions on these items in the minutes. The EMS director’s request to add a salaried deputy chief was presented as a cost-saving operational measure intended to reduce reliance on neighboring counties’ ambulances during busy periods.
