Court approves flagpole replacement and Kingsmill bond release; litter‑abatement hires fail

Magistrate Tine Brewer moved to approve purchase and installation of a new 30‑foot flagpole at Ray Jewell Park; the packet included a $2,000 quote from The Louisville Flagpole Company. The motion passed on voice vote. The court also approved relocating the existing flagpole to the EMS facility; that motion passed but two magistrates recorded 'nay' votes in the minutes.
Road foreman Todd Burch requested inspection of Kingsmill subdivision roadways. Engineering consultant QK4 inspected Alexander Way, St. James Court and Waverly Court and recommended releasing the developers' bonds. The court approved release of the developers’ bonds (motion by Magistrate Jim Travis, second by Magistrate Tine Brewer; voice vote 'aye').
Separately the Solid Waste Committee proposed hiring two part‑time employees at $15/hour to pick up roadside litter under the 2022–23 Litter Abatement Grant, administered locally by the Solid Waste Coordinator. A motion to hire two part‑time county employees at $15/hour was moved and seconded, but the roll‑call vote recorded in the minutes contains inconsistent name entries and the motion failed; the minutes list the outcome as 'Motion Fails.'
