Simpson County Fiscal Court on Sept. 5 authorized the county to enter a three‑year iWorQ service agreement to provide a basic software package for multiple departments to track fleet maintenance, work orders, road projects, FEMA cost records and signage.
County officials recorded the iWorQ agreement at $6,500 for the first year and $4,000 for each of the following two years and authorized Judge/Executive Mason Bames to sign. The motion to authorize the agreement was made by Magistrate Marty Chandler and seconded by Magistrate Myron Thurman.
The court also authorized advertising for bids for a new backhoe for the Public Works Department, allowing a 2011 backhoe as trade‑in. At the same meeting the court approved declaring several county vehicles and equipment as surplus and directed they be sold by a method to be determined. The surplus list included a 2012 Ford Explorer (Jail), a 1999 Ford 250 pickup (Jail), a 2006 GMC tandem dump truck (Road), and a 2013 Ford F250 pickup (Road) along with three Casio SE‑5700 electronic cash registers.
Separately, the court approved selling Unit #17, a fully equipped and marked 2016 Dodge RAM (VIN 1C6RR7XTXGS156459), to Washington County's Sheriff's Department and authorized Sheriff Jere Hopson to facilitate that sale.
These actions align the county’s equipment management and procurement planning across departments; specific bid timelines and sale methods were not specified in the meeting record.
