Simpson County Fiscal Court approves ordinance setting joint meeting dates, transfers vehicles and moves $100,000 to jail fund

Judge Executive Mason Barnes opened the Simpson County Fiscal Court’s Sept. 19 meeting at the Simpson County Historic Courthouse with prayer led by County Attorney Sam Phillips and the pledge of allegiance. The court approved the minutes of the Sept. 5 meeting.
The court approved second reading and final passage of Ordinance No. 120.02, amending Ordinance No. 120.01 to set joint city/county meetings at 9 a.m. on the second Monday in March at Franklin City Hall and at 12 p.m. on the third Tuesday in October at the Simpson County Historic Courthouse. The motion passed following a motion by Magistrate Marty Chandler and a second by Magistrate Myron Thurman.
