Fleming County Fiscal Court approves routine budgets, contracts and appointments

Fleming County Fiscal Court met July 13, 2021 and unanimously approved a slate of routine administrative items including minutes, budget reports, contracts and appointments.
The court approved the minutes of its June 8 and June 30 meetings and approved the Treasurer’s annual, monthly and quarterly reports ending June 30, 2021. County Treasurer Kathy Dryden told the court total funds were $3,688,838.05, with a General Fund balance of $1,347,378.35 and an ARPA balance of $1,416,241.43.
The court approved budget transfers and cash transfers as presented, accepted the first reading of Ordinance 21-1340 (a budget amendment) and approved the first reading vote. It also approved the Annual Order setting salaries effective July 1, 2021 and adopted the Road Department pay scale effective the same date.
On procurement and personnel, the court approved renewal of the Softworks contract for FY2021–2022 to provide road department software and discussed a seasonal road department position. The court approved Claims and Carry In Claims reports and authorized disposal of additional surplus vehicles and equipment that were unsold last fiscal year.
The Mayor of Flemingsburg and County Judge/Executive recommended appointing Jowanna Fritz and Belinda Newman to the Fleming County Ambulance District Board for two-year terms beginning July 13, 2021; the court approved both appointments unanimously. The court also accepted the Fleming County Sheriff’s month-end and quarterly reports ending June 30, 2021 and the 2020 tax settlement pending audit.
The minutes record all listed votes as unanimous; the clerk’s minutes do not show individual roll-call vote tallies for each motion.
