Fleming County approves ambulance grant application, reappoints ethics board members and donates $2,500 to tornado relief

Fleming County Fiscal Court approved a package of community and appointment actions at its Dec. 14 meeting.
The court approved the FY2022-2023 Ambulance Block Grant application, effective Dec. 8, 2021, and authorized County Judge/Executive Larry H. Foxworthy to sign related documents. Magistrate James Smoot moved approval and Magistrate Chris Hickerson seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
Judge/Executive Foxworthy recommended reappointing Van Alexander and Angie Muse to the Fleming County Board of Ethics for terms effective May 31, 2021, through May 31, 2024; the court approved the reappointments. The court also discussed a funding request from the Eastern Kentucky Chapter of the American Red Cross and voted unanimously to support the Mayfield-Graves County Tornado Relief Fund with a $2,500 contribution.
Fleming County resident Donna Call presented a memorial plaque honoring Jewell Call for his service to Fleming County and the U.S. Army; the court approved placing the plaque in the Fleming County Courthouse. Clerk Jarrod Fritz offered public praise for staff service during the COVID-19 pandemic, and Dispatch Director Charlotte Benton provided an update on dispatch activities.
