Fleming County Fiscal Court unanimously opposes industrial revenue bonds for two local solar projects

Judge/Executive Larry H. Foxworthy brought forward memoranda and resolutions requesting approval to issue industrial revenue bonds for the benefit of AUEG Fleming Solar, LLC and Fleming Solar, LLC. The court then took separate roll-call votes on each request. For both votes, Magistrates Chris Hickerson, David J. DeAtley, Richie Kielman, James Smoot, Donnie Fawns and Ray H. Money and Judge/Executive Foxworthy voted NO; there were no YES votes recorded.
The court discussed taking each entity’s proposal separately before voting. The minutes record the votes as a formal roll-call outcome that reflects the Fiscal Court’s non-support for issuance of industrial revenue bonds to benefit the two named solar firms. The resolutions and memoranda requesting issuance of bonds remain on record as denied by the court.
The meeting did not record additional motions to reconsider or instructions to staff to pursue alternative incentives for either project. The court moved on to routine business after the votes.
What happens next: The Fiscal Court’s recorded NO votes mean the county will not provide the requested IRB approvals. Any subsequent changes or new proposals would need to be returned to the court for separate consideration.
