Fleming County Fiscal Court approves routine financial reports, reappointments and road vendor authorizations

Fleming County Judge/Executive Larry H. Foxworthy presided over the April 12, 2022 Fleming County Fiscal Court meeting at the county courthouse in Flemingsburg. The court unanimously approved a slate of routine administrative items, including the county treasurer’s month-end and quarterly financial reports showing total combined funds of $3,486,395.54.
The approvals included reappointments and appointments to local boards: Randall Wood to the Flemingsburg–Fleming County Recreation Park Board (term 5/2/2022–5/2/2026), Dan Hicks to the Western Fleming County Water District Board (term 5/1/2022–5/1/2026) and William G. Cowan to the Fleming County Public Library District Board (term 6/1/2022–6/1/2026). The court also approved the Fleming County Clerk’s month-end report and the sheriff’s month-end report for March 31, 2022.
On procurement, the court accepted the lowest and best qualified bids from the public Buffalo Trace bid opening and granted the County Judge/Executive authority to negotiate pricing and to sign documents for road-department materials and services effective April 12, 2022. Approved vendor categories named in the record include aggregates, fuel, paving/asphalt, chip-and-seal, cold mix, corrugate pipe, road salt and transports, and the minutes list specific suppliers for each category.
Other administrative approvals included authorizing payment of May 2022 election expenses up to $11,500; approval of budget and cash transfers as presented by County Treasurer Kathy Dryden; approval of claims and carry-in claims reports; and authorization to dispose of surplus property (two boats and trailers) by sealed bid, with public opening scheduled at the May meeting. The court also approved FY2022–2023 KACo All Lines Fund premiums and the KACo Workers Compensation Agreement and gave the judge authority to execute related documents.
The Fiscal Court scheduled a special call meeting for Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. to consider the FY2022–2023 budget. The meeting adjourned at 10:49 a.m.
