Fleming County Fiscal Court approves financial reports, contracts and purchases totaling routine county business

Fleming County Fiscal Court on June 14 approved a series of routine financial and contracting measures, including the county treasurer's report showing total funds of $3,549,848.52 and authorization to buy a coroner's van with American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds.
Magistrate David J. DeAtley moved and Magistrate Richie Kielman seconded approval of the treasurer's financial reports ending May 31, 2022. The report listed balances by fund: General Fund $1,612,861.88; Road Fund $96,702.80; Jail Fund $16,384.43; LGEA Fund $129,779.17; Forest Fire Fund $6.69; CDBG Fund $288,590.00; Dispatch Fund $355,693.07; ARPA Fund $877,158.13; Capital Improvement Fund $172,672.35. The court voted unanimously to accept the report.
The court also approved budget transfers and cash transfers as presented, authorized payment of claims including a $167.23 payment to Napa, and approved all invoices presented through the end of fiscal year 2021-2022.
On contracts and services, the court unanimously approved: - a Dalmatian Fire Systems agreement for annual fire and sprinkler inspections; - FY2022-2023 Hanson Aggregates agreements for both locations; - an up-to-5% increase on Tri-State Elevator maintenance contracts for the courthouse and judicial center effective July 1, 2022; and - a two-year Gray Services lawncare/landscaping contract (April—October) at $550 per month for the judicial center and $150 per month for the courthouse, beginning July 1.
The court approved Resolution 22-1368, accepting revised mile points on county roadways for submission to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet as recommended by the Buffalo Trace Area Development District GIS Department.
On equipment and property actions, the court accepted a sealed bid of $35,000 from Don Franklin Ford for a used coroner's van and approved purchase of a 2018 Ford Transit 150 cargo van (VIN #0913) for coroner use, with payment authorized from ARPA funds. The court also approved surplusing a 2003 Ford one-ton truck (VIN ending 0601) for sale at the next available auction.
All motions reported in this meeting were recorded as approved by unanimous vote when vote lines were present in the minutes. Many motions were moved and seconded by magistrates Richie Kielman, David J. DeAtley, Donnie Fawns and Ray H. Money.
