Commissioners approve subdivision plat, Red Cross space license, permit changes and other routine business

At the Jan. 27 special meeting, Pittsburg County commissioners handled several routine but locally important items.

The board approved the Cattail Cove Phase 2 subdivision plat for District 1 but specifically declined to accept the roads into the county system; Commissioner Charlie Rogers moved to approve the plat without accepting the roads, and the motion passed unanimously.

Commissioners approved a Standard Form of Space License Agreement allowing the American Red Cross to use one dedicated office (approximately 10 by 12 feet) at the Emergency Management facility on a temporary basis. The license specifies permitted uses, term dates and required insurance limits.

The board also approved Resolution 26-180 to cancel purchase order 5899 (issued to Dowless Service Co. LLC. for $5,668) and approved Resolution 26-181 changing the requisitioning officer for Sam's Point Volunteer Fire Department, removing Jeremy Staley and adding Brandy Nichols; the board recorded the change after receiving a letter from Sam's Point VFD.

Finally, commissioners approved two road-crossing permits: Permit 26-026 (Adamson Rural Water District 8 — permanent fresh water line in Section 22, Township 6N, Range 15E) and Permit 26-027 (Rural Water District 7 — permanent fresh water line in Section 33, Township 6N, Range 12E). The permit applications and floodplain-administrator review are included in the meeting packet.
