At the Jan. 20 meeting the Pittsburg County board awarded Bid No. 11 (one used chip-spreader) to Van Keppel Company as the lowest and best bidder. Chairman Ross Selman read the letter recommending award and the board approved the motion unanimously.
The board also opened bids for Bid No. 12 (one new wildland bed to be built and installed on a 2025 Ford F550 for Arrowhead Estates Fire Department). The bids opened at the 10:00 a.m. bid opening included proposals from Mallory Fire ($110,453.31), Omega Customs LLC ($59,109.80) and Redline Fire Supply ($82,909.86). After opening the bids the board accepted them 'as opened' and tabled the item for review and recommendation at a later date.
Next steps: The award to Van Keppel will be administratively processed for purchase-order and payment. The new wildland bed bids will be reviewed by staff and returned to the board for a formal award decision after analysis of specifications and delivery timing.
