Pittsburg County Economic Development Authority approves routine agenda items; staff to send trust indenture to auditor for racetrack review

The Pittsburg County Economic Development Authority met Jan. 12, 2026, in the County Commissioners Conference Room in McAlester and unanimously approved the meeting agenda, the Jan. 5 minutes and claims and fiscal transactions.
Chairman Ross Selman called the meeting to order. Trustee Mike Haynes moved to approve the agenda; Trustee Charlie Rogers seconded the motion, and the trustees voted aye. The minutes of the Jan. 5 meeting were read and approved after a motion from Haynes and a second from Selman. The board then voted unanimously to acknowledge and approve all claims and fiscal transactions issued by the Authority and approved by the Board of County Commissioners.
During the new-business portion of the meeting, Sandra Crenshaw said she will provide the county auditor with a trust indenture for review and an opinion regarding funds that could possibly be donated for the racetrack. The statement was presented as an informational item; the Authority did not take any formal action on racetrack funding at the Jan. 12 meeting.
The meeting concluded after Chairman Selman moved to adjourn and Trustee Rogers seconded. The vote to adjourn was unanimous.
