The Pittsburg County Board of County Commissioners met Jan. 5, 2026 and unanimously appointed Ross Selman as chairman and Mike Haynes as vice-chairman for calendar year 2026, the board said. The motion to appoint Selman was made by Chairman Charlie Rogers and seconded by Mike Haynes; all three commissioners voted aye.
The board approved a set of routine fiscal items, voting to authorize claims and purchase orders for payment after review, approve transfers and monthly officer reports, and adopt a lengthy set of blanket purchase orders covering departments including the animal shelter, district road shops, the Expo Center and the jail.
