Commissioners declare equipment surplus, reject $5 sealed bid and approve routine fiscal items

Pittsburg County commissioners on Dec. 1 declared several District 1 vehicles and equipment surplus, rejected a single sealed bid that failed to meet appraised value, and approved a package of routine fiscal transactions.
Chairman Charlie Rogers read Resolution 26-134 declaring a Hyundai excavator (inventory D1-332.115, VIN HHKHK4021LJ0000302), a 1987 Caterpillar crawler dozer (D1-332.116, serial 8PB01750) and a lowboy trailer (D1-348.025, VIN 44R104823MS000115) surplus and authorized sale at internet auction. Rogers moved to approve the resolution and the board voted 3-0 in favor.
On a related surplus sale, County Clerk Hope Trammell told the commissioners a single sealed bid for a 1993 American General truck had been received for $5.00, which did not meet the appraised value; Chairman Rogers moved to reject the bid and re-advertise the vehicle, and the board unanimously approved the rejection.
The board also approved routine fiscal actions: payment of claims and purchase orders after review, interfund transfers, monthly officer reports and a lengthy set of blanket purchase orders covering multiple departments and vendors. Motions to approve each item passed unanimously. Rogers also moved to approve a renewal maintenance contract proposal between Miller Office Equipment and Pittsburg County District 1; that motion passed.
Votes recorded at the meeting were unanimous (Charlie Rogers, Ross Selman and Mike Haynes voting aye on recorded motions). The county clerk retained the resolution and the bid-rejection notice in the meeting record.
