Councilmembers discussed establishing a formal water line extension policy to provide consistency for future hookups and development. Brian Richards told the council that the town code references a water line extension policy but the town does not currently have one in place; he asked councilmembers to review the issue and email ideas to staff.
Councilmember Kerry Ballard said the line should be six inches and emphasized that standards will need periodic updates as new hookups occur. Mayor Lynn Johnson asked that the matter be placed on a future agenda for council consideration. No formal action or vote was taken on the policy at the Jan. 4 meeting.
