Councilmember Lynn Johnson moved to approve the purchase and Byron Lewis seconded; the measure passed unanimously with Councilmembers Cory Johnson and Allison Perkins absent.
Staff described the purchase as an early approval to secure the neighboring parcel ahead of a formal board meeting to finalize the acquisition. No financing breakdown was provided in the meeting record; staff indicated the purchase is tied to tourism and economic-development efforts the town has pursued to attract visitors and support local businesses.
