Sevier County commissioners accept resignation, move December meeting earlier

Sevier County commissioners accepted the resignation of Fred Atchley from Commission District 5, Seat B and approved an earlier start time for their December meeting during a brief Nov. 12 Steering Committee gathering.
Mayor Larry Waters presented Resolution 2024-11-02, which would accept Atchley’s resignation. Commissioner Carroll Rauhuff moved to approve the resolution; Commissioner Harold Pitner seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
The committee then approved the Board of Commissioners’ final agenda for the Nov. 18, 2024 meeting after a motion from Commissioner Harold Pitner and a second from Commissioner Carroll Rauhuff; that motion also passed unanimously.
The meeting was momentarily adjourned at 4:39 PM and then reopened at 4:41 PM after a motion by Commissioner Aaron Foster, recognized by Commissioner Ray Ogle and seconded by Commissioner Harold Pitner; the motion to reopen passed unanimously.
While the meeting was reopened, Commissioner Aaron Foster moved to change the Sevier County Board of Commissioners meeting scheduled for Monday, Dec. 16, 2024, from a 6:00 PM start to a 5:00 PM start. Commissioner Dale Hill seconded; that motion passed unanimously.
Commissioner Carroll Rauhuff moved to adjourn the reopened meeting; Commissioner Dale Hill seconded and the meeting adjourned at 4:44 PM.
