Lodgers Tax board hears Wild Divide website update, asks county staff to simplify budget reporting

At the Sept. 9 meeting the Colfax County Lodgers Tax Advisory Board received an update on the Wild Divide website and a monthly budget briefing on Lodgers Tax receipts and expenditures.
Patricia Duran of CCI reported that the Wild Divide Facebook presence exists but the website had no content posted at the time of the meeting. Soriah Martinez demonstrated the website work she has been doing and said the team hopes to begin posting a "Coming Soon" notice in October; Duran told the board she will provide a written scope of work for the board’s records and that the Wild Divide team expects to return to request additional funding later.
Separately, Michael Muniz presented the Lodgers Tax budget report for August and explained he met with the treasurer to better understand the report. The minutes state the board asked for clearer information; Michael then asked Tai, described in the minutes as a Colfax County financial specialist, to present further detail. Michael said he will work with Tai to produce a simplified budget format for future board review.
Other business included a discussion about recruiting an unincorporated Colfax County business owner or manager to serve on the Lodgers Tax Board. The board set its next meeting for Oct. 21, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. and adjourned at 9:52 a.m.
