Wild Divide seeks $30,000 Colfax County lodgers-tax contract for marketing and web work

Patricia Duran of CCI asked the Colfax County Lodgers Tax Advisory Board on Oct. 21 for a $30,000, one-year contract to handle promotional work for The Wild Divide, including website management, social media posting (about five times per week), branding for billboards and radio, flyers and pursuit of a Google Ad Grant.
Duran told the board the Phase 3 scope of work outlines who The Wild Divide is, how it started and its accomplishments, and that CCI would provide monthly reports about accomplishments and shortcomings. She said she will coordinate on a Gravel Road Guidebook and prefers the contract be paid monthly to protect continuity if a staff vacancy occurs.
The request drew no immediate vote. Chair Laurie Bunker said the board could not vote on the funding at this meeting because the panel currently lacks a full membership; the board will reconsider the application once an additional member is seated. Board member Michael Muniz also participated in the discussion but did not present a motion on funding.
The proposal would be funded from lodgers-tax revenues if approved. The application and its scope identify deliverables (website and social-media management, branding and advertising) and a requested annual budget of $30,000; specific performance metrics and payment terms were discussed as part of the presentation but were not finalized at the meeting.
The board took no action on the funding request during the Oct. 21 meeting. The request will return for consideration after the vacancy on the board is filled; the next board meeting is scheduled for Nov. 4, 2024.
