Franklin County Legislative Committee approves subdivision-rule change, road-list updates and 17 notary applications

The Franklin County Board of Commissioners Legislative Committee met April 4, 2024, in the Community Room of the Franklin County Annex Building. Chairman David Eldridge called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. and the committee moved through a series of routine agenda items that were all adopted unanimously.

The committee approved the minutes from its Feb. 8, 2024 meeting after a motion by Commissioner Dale Schultz and a second from Commissioner Tyler Bauer. The committee then considered and approved a resolution to amend the Franklin County, Tennessee Subdivision Regulations Article II, Section D by adding a new Number 4; Commissioner Tyler Bauer moved the resolution and Benere seconded.

Chairman David Eldridge requested a motion to combine Resolutions #2–#7. Committee member Benere moved to combine the items; Glenn Summers seconded and the committee approved the procedural motion. Benere then moved to approve the combined Resolutions #2–#7, with Tyler Bauer seconding; that approval also passed unanimously.

The committee approved proposed changes to the Franklin County road list and carried the motion to forward the updated road list to the full county commission after a motion from Commissioner Dale Schultz and a second from Commissioner Glenn Summers. The committee also approved 17 notary applications following a motion by Schultz and a second by Bauer.

Chairman Eldridge opened the floor for public comment; no members of the public spoke. The committee adjourned at 5:38 p.m. on a motion by Benere and a second by Bauer.
