Franklin County committee forwards road changes, speed-limit petitions and employee social-media policy to full commission
Summary
At a brief March 6 Legislative Committee meeting, commissioners unanimously approved motions to forward a combined road-list package, two speed-limit petitions (Woods Lake Road in District 4 and Fairfield Road), a surplus-equipment declaration, a county employee social-media policy and seven notary applications to the County Commission.
The Franklin County Board of Commissioners Legislative Committee met March 6, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. in the Mayor's Conference Room at the Franklin County Annex Building and voted unanimously to forward a slate of items to the full County Commission.
Commissioner Dale Schultz moved to approve the minutes of the committee’s Feb. 6 meeting; Commissioner Glen Summers seconded and the committee approved the minutes, recorded in the committee minute as "All Ayes; Motion Carried." The committee then approved a motion by Summers to combine proposed changes to the road list (items A–E) and forward the combined package to the County Commission; Schultz seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The committee approved two separate speed-limit petitions for referral. Schultz moved to approve and forward the petition for Woods Lake Road in District 4; Summers seconded and the motion passed with all members voting in favor. Summers moved to approve and forward a speed-limit petition for Fairfield Road; Schultz seconded and the committee again recorded an unanimous vote to refer the petition to the full Commission.
On fleet and property matters, the committee approved Schultz's motion to declare a 1980 Euclid R25 dump truck surplus and forward that declaration to the County Commission; Summers seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The committee also approved Summers' motion to forward the Franklin County Social Media Policy for Employees to the County Commission for consideration; Schultz seconded and the motion carried with all votes recorded in the minutes as "All Ayes."
The committee approved seven notary applications to be sent to the County Commission after Schultz moved to approve them and Summers seconded. The meeting concluded after Schultz moved to adjourn, Summers seconded and the committee voted unanimously to adjourn. The minutes list Tyler Bauer as chairman and were submitted by the committee clerk.
