Franklin County renews Comcast franchise and approves lease for human resource agency

Franklin County commissioners unanimously approved two items related to local services and facility use at their April 16 meeting: a franchise agreement with Comcast of Nashville II, LLC and a lease with the South Central Human Resource Agency (SCHRA) for county premises.
The franchise agreement with Comcast was approved after the Finance Committee had recommended the franchise renewal. The approval authorizes Comcast to continue operating its cable system and providing Cable Service in the unincorporated areas of Franklin County under the franchise terms presented to the board. The motion to approve the Comcast franchise was made and carried by voice vote with no dissent.
The board also approved Resolution 8c‑0418 authorizing a multi‑year lease between Franklin County and SCHRA for use of county property. The lease approval was moved by Commissioner Barbara Finney and seconded by Sam Hiles and carried by voice vote 13–0. The Finance Committee had reviewed the lease and recommended it be sent to the full commission.
Commissioners additionally authorized a multiple‑year lease purchase and maintenance agreement for the Franklin County Clerk’s Konica copier (Resolution 8f‑0418) to allow payments to be spread over up to 60 months; the motion passed unanimously.
All three items were recorded in the official minutes and attachments for public review and implementation by county staff.
