Separately, members amended the county's 2018 road list to reflect surface-type corrections. Commissioner Van Buskirk pointed out that Boswell Road had been listed as asphalt when it is in fact gravel; highway staff and others noted it should be listed as DBST and the commission approved the correction by voice vote.
The minutes say Tennessee Department of Transportation will post the new speed limit signs at no cost to county or city governments. The commission's approval was procedural and did not require any additional appropriation; the highway department was directed to coordinate with TDOT on sign placement.
