Dickson County Commission adopts FY2022–23 budget, nonprofit allocations and keeps tax rate unchanged

DICKSON COUNTY, Tenn. — At a special called meeting on June 6, 2022, the Dickson County Commission unanimously approved three resolutions that set the county's fiscal priorities for the 2022–23 year and maintained the existing property tax rate.
The commission approved Resolution 06-2022-01 to make appropriations for the county's various funds, departments, institutions, offices and agencies for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2022 and ending June 30, 2023. Commissioner Linda Hayes moved the resolution; Commissioner Becky Spicer seconded. The motion passed by a unanimous aye voice vote.
Commissioners next approved Resolution 06-2022-02, authorizing appropriations to nonprofit charitable organizations in Dickson County for the same fiscal period. Commissioner Linda Hayes moved the measure; Commissioner Stacey Batey seconded. That motion also passed by a unanimous aye voice vote.
The meeting concluded with Resolution 06-2022-03, which fixes the county tax levy for the 2022–23 fiscal year and leaves the overall rate unchanged from the prior year at $2.35 per $100 of assessed value. The resolution lists component rates as follows: General $1.22; Highway/Public Works $0.08; General Capital Projects $0.09; General Purpose School $0.76; General Debt Service $0.20. Commissioner Johnnie Reed moved to approve the tax-levy resolution; Commissioner Dwight McIllwain seconded. The motion passed by a unanimous aye voice vote.
A motion to adjourn at 6:35 P.M. was made by Commissioner Stacey Batey, seconded by Commissioner Mike Petty, and approved by unanimous voice vote. The minutes were signed by County Clerk Luanne Greer and Chairman County Mayor Bob Rail.
