The Town Council of the Municipality of Kingston unanimously approved a memorandum of understanding with the fire department by passing Resolution 2026-1 at a special voting meeting on Jan. 20, 2026.
Nancy Cooper moved to adopt the resolution; John Chernesky seconded the motion. The council recorded seven yes votes: Doug Rush, Bill Manley, Paul Keating, Nancy Cooper, Kate McMahon, John Chernesky and Al Littzi. The motion passed and the resolution was recorded as approved.
The minutes do not include the text of the MOU in the posted segments; the administrator noted staff had no further verbal updates at the start of the meeting. Attorney drafting and minor final edits to the meeting resolutions were noted by the solicitor/attorney during new business.
The council adjourned at 7:24 p.m. following a brief new-business recognition of retiring staff.
